The Two Best Selling Products For The Next 6 Months?

The two best selling products for the next 6 months?

According to consumer buying trend experts, these two kinds of products will see their sales go up during the next six months, while the rest of the economy struggles. Shouldn't you be creating and selling these kinds of products?

In the Monday October 6, 2008 New York Times article, 'Shaken Consumer Aggravates crisis', it was reported that consumers are pulling back on their spending, all but insuring that the economic situation will get worse before it gets better.

The article goes on to suggest that consumers will be spending less, staying home more, and sellers of all kinds of products will see their sales fall.

But the article pointed out there is one bright spot in this bleak picture - consumers who stay home are likely to be spending more money on DVDs for entertainment and training.

Good News for the Independent Producer

First let me say here that almost all of what you read in the New York Times is simply the opinion of a reporter who may or may not have researched the subject and the article almost always reflects the biases of the reporter.

But sometimes even the New York Times gets part of a story right.

And in this case, if the scenario of consumers spending more time at home and less time out in the retail world is correct, it is quite likely stay-at-home consumers will spend more time either in front of their computers or in front of their TV sets.

And the prediction of consumers buying more DVDs for entertainment and training makes a lot of sense - if consumers are staying home watching TV or learning more about their computers.

Again, if these predictions are on the mark, the next several months will be a great time for the independent video producer who is selling training or how-to DVDs on the internet.

It means more consumers will be looking for more DVDs to purchase, and they'll be looking on the internet to find them.

As a fitness professional (bodybuilder, figure or fitness competitor), this is a great time to discover how to create your own exercise videos!

People may be spending more time at home and they may need ways to stay in shape!

Mike Pulcinella and I have put up a free message board at www.FitnessVideoU.com.

This board will help you on the road to creating and marketing your own fitness videos!

The Power Of Networking To Accomplish BIG Things!

I've teamed up with my business partner, Documentary extrordinaire, Mike Pulcinella and the members of Austin's Mayors Fitness Council to create a video highlighting Austin's goal of becoming the fittest city by 2010.

This is big.

Real big.

None of us would be able to handle this project alone.

But together, we expect big, exciting things to happen.

How about you?

Who can you team up with to accomplish more in your business or in your life?

I guarantee there is something big out there for you to be apart of.

Perhaps you already are working on something big, something meaningful.

If not, START something.

Start a movement.

Accomplish big, meaningful things.

Get outside of your comfort zone.

Outside of your circle of regular contacts.

Who knows what might happen?

Have a great day!

A Creative View

Below is a pic of the view that I look at every day in my back yard.

That's Lake Travis (the North Shore) in Austin, Texas.

I sit, get quiet and let my mind go...

My creative juices begin to bubble up and the ideas and answers come non stop.

I told my wife when we moved here a couple of years ago, that we would have the most creative period in our lives at this house.

So far, so good.

What are YOU looking at to get quiet and creative?

I make myself slow down, take stock and be grateful for what I have.

The more I do this, the more at peace I feel.

How do YOU slow down?

"Time, not money, is the real commodity in life"

Here's a link to a great story about one man's outlook on life.

I used to work 60+ hours a week in the corporate world.

Soul crushing work.

Now, I work 3 days a week as my own boss.

Here's what I do:

Fitness Boot Camps at www.FullForceFitness.net

FitnessandFigureReality DVD of the month with Monica Brant

Monica and I are teaming up on a couple of other fitness related projects.

BodyBuildersReality DVD of the month with Lee Priest

Other video projects include:

Adela Garcia

Joe Vitale

Currently working with Austin's Mayor Council on Fitness for a HUGE
PROJECT

and I accept other fitness related video projects on a case by case basis.

I also have predictable recurring income from ebooks and am working on
a couple of fitness related "tech" projects.

Finally, I do business consulting with other fitness, figure and bodybuilders to show them how easy it is to create multiple streams of income.

As I mentioned, I work 3 days a week.

The other 4 days, I enjoy life with my family (wife and soon to be 3 boys).

Upcoming trips:

Steve Reeves Fitness and Film Festival August 23rd

Cancun, Mexico September 27th

The month of December 08, I am planning to take the entire month
off to slow time down and enjoy the Holidays, watch Holiday movies, eat, sleep in (probably not)and workout.

Life is truly a gift and one that should be cherished.

Create your own life, don't let your work dictate your life!

Survivor

That's Scott, Monica and Phillip Brant in the picture.

I shot this yesterday, July 5th at beautiful Lake Austin
near Monica and Scott's home.

Phillip is Monica Brant's older brother.

Phillip recently lost 40+ pounds since March 08.

Down from 232lbs to a current weight of 188lbs.

He ran 4-6 miles, did dumbbell workouts and cleaned up his diet!

Now he's trying out for the TV show - "Survivor"!

He's going for his dreams!

How about you?

Are you stuck in rut?

In a dead end job?

Don't know how to take it to the next level?

Tip - Forget all of the over thinking and over analyzing.

When you are going down the right path in life (following your passion),
the doors will swing wide open!

Go for your dreams!

Austin, Texas Mayor's Fitness Council

I had the pleasure of being invited to lunch today by none other than, Lou Earle, Publisher and CEO of Austin Fit Magazine (that's me and Lou in the pic).

We had lunch at Zax Pints and Plates at 312 Barton Springs Rd.

Great food! (No, we didn't have any pints - only salads)

We had a lively and enthusiastic meeting about The Austin Mayor's Fitness Council meeting their goal of becoming the fittest city by 2010.

(Lou is on the executive committee of the council)

Lou has a lot of great ideas and it seems that we might possibly work together to accomplish this and other exciting tasks!

Stay tuned!

More Opportunity Now!

"The world economy is hitting a bump in the road, but is not anywhere near a crash.

Interest rates are still near historic lows (around 6%), unemployment is still realtively low (under 6%), consumers are still spending money, banks are stable, imports and exports are still flowing, no one is starving in the streets (at least in most democratic countries), and people are still free to cut their spending, and follow the jobs.

The world economy is adjusting to higher energy prices, and that adjustment is going pretty well - painful, but nothing near a crash.

And just like most recent times, there is still more opportunity now than there has been at any time in the past.

Still, if you want to take precautions, do this:

1. Reduce unneccesary spending - don't go buy a Rolex watch or a huge bass boat or other big ticket item you could really live without.

2. Cut your monthly overhead - look at your lifestyle, and reduce those extravagances that you really don't need.

3. Create new streams of income - diversify your income sources so if one stream dries up, you'll have another.

4. Invest in tools and training - acquiring tools and skills which will help you make better products, create more services, will help you build a stronger future

5. Don't panic - understand that about 90% of what you hear on the news is not real news, but is psychological warfare with one goal in mind - to give you a reason to continue to listen to the news - and be in fear of missing something.

If you check back on the major news panic stories of the past 8 years, you'll see that they got almost everything wrong. Everything.

So don't panic. Continue to create products, continue to market them.

We are no where near a economic crash."

BodyBuilding Will Never Die...

The trend these days is to convince people that you don't have to do body building type of movements to get into optimal shape and to reap the rewards of health.

I beg to differ.

No one knows more about how to get into shape than bodybuilders.

NO ONE.

Until you've done it yourself, you have no idea.

The discipline that it takes to get into contest shape is WAY undervalued.

"On, he's just on steroids", the guy across the gym says.

"I could be that big and ripped too if were using illegal drugs", the personal trainer says.

Oh, could you?

I really doubt it.

As someone with 23 years of bodybuilding and fitness training, I've worked with and hung around the top people in the industry of bodybuilding, fitness and figure.

Lee Priest, Adela Garcia, Monica Brant Peckam just to name a few.

They all have one thing in common that those who have never been in shape do not.

They have discipline.

They have mental focus.

They do not use excuses.

They use bodybuilding type of movements.

Unless you've been under a heavy bar with the fear of God inside of you telling you that will not be able to do another rep, that you are going to puke then you will not be able to relate to this.

You will never develop the mental toughness that is bodybuilding.

You can fool yourself but you won't fool the true fitness experts - bodybuilders.

And you won't fool, Arnold.

Only 3 spots left!

(From Dr. Joe Vitale, www.mrfire.com)

Now HERE'S an invite you've never gotten
before --

How would you like to spend two days with me,
my personal fitness trainer, and a group of
Steve Reeves (Hercules) bodybuilding and
movie fans discussing fitness, marketing,
product creation, and whatever else you want?

It happens August 21-22.

It happens near San Diego.

It happens like this --

Scott York has over twenty years in fitness
training. He's also the wizard behind the hit
reality DVD's about bodybuilding. He's also
my personal trainer.

I'm, well -- you should already know who I am. :)

Steve Reeves was a legendary bodybuilder
and movie star, most famous for playing
Hercules in the movies. He inspired some
legends, such as Arnold S., and was a
legend in his own right.

Recently I bought Steve Reeves car. It's a
1977 Jaguar XJS. I will pick it up a the end of
August when I attend the Steve Reeves Film
Festival.

This is where you come in.

Scott and I are willing to meet a small group
of five people at the Reeves Festival to talk
business, fitness, and so forth.

The plan is to go on the Reeves adventure
at the Festival but make time in and around
it for master-minding, brain-storming, and
information-sharing.

This is a rare invite - never offered before -
and only five can attend. There's an investment
of course, so only write if you're serious.

If you're interested, please write --

Scott@FullForceFitness.net

For details on the Steve Reeves event, see --

http://www.stevereeves.com/inc-sris-news.htm

Hope to see you there.

Onwards.

Joe

Is It What THEY Want?

Is it what they want or is it what you want?

As more and more fitness professionals get into product development (ebooks, dvd's, cd's, books, etc), make certain that your audience WANTS what you create.

The rule of thumb is to find an audience and then create your product.

Not the other way around.

The world will not come beating a path to my door just because I wrote a book.

Or created a DVD.

Or put up a new website.

Etc and so on...

I am constantly amazed at 99.9% of the fitness, figure and bodybuilders out there
who are not understanding this point.

Find out what your audience wants AND THEN create the product.

Case in point.

I recently created an ebook called "Outdoorfitnessgames" at www.outdoorfitnessgames.com

It's an ebook and is listed on www.clickbank.com

It's a money making explosion.

There was a need within the fitness boot camp and athlete training world for a product like this.

I have been running outdoor boot camps for nearly 3 years so I understood the need.

And I created it.

You can do the same.

P.S. A highly recommended resource for ebook creation is a book written by my mentor, Dr Joe Vitale. The book is called "How To Write And Publish Your Own eBook In As Little As 7 Days."

The book is available in hard copy and in eBook format.

Look on ebay, clickbank.com, www.mrfire.com to find it.

No Complaints

Happy New Year To All!

2007 was challenging in some ways due to the passing on of my father.

I still feel him and for that I'm grateful.

2008 looks to be a POWERFUL and FUN year - these are some of the projects that I have lined up:

Running Fitness Boot Camps (2 locations) (www.fullforcefitness.net)

Working with Pro Body Builder and Race Car Driver, Lee Priest (www.leepriestboard.com)

Working with Pro Figure Competitor and all around fantastically wonderful person, Monica Brant (www.monicabrant.com and www.fitnessandfigurereality.com)

Working with my "Sensei", Dr Joe Vitale, www.mrfire.com
Joe must be the kindest most helpful person this side of the planet Pluto.
He's truly one in a billion.

Finished up my latest eBook for Fitness Professionals, called www.OutdoorFitnessGames.com
Selling well already.

Video projects for others, email marketing and publicity mentorship program for others.

Setting up the trip for David Rachford, the person who won the GRAND PRIZE in the YourBusinessBody contest (www.yourbusinessbody.com)

Offers from my new friends in Brazil to come back and help them with some bodybuilding and fitness projects.

Raising 2 young boys, fishing, boating, and most importantly, time with my wife.

What a great year it will be!

Scott
www.scottyork.com

P.S. Joe Vitale recently loaded me up with gifts including:

Ghurka Cigars
A book called "A Complaint Free World" by Will Bowen
A book called "What Does Your Doctor Look Like Naked?" by J. Warren Willy II
A book called "The Key" by Dr Joe Vitale
A lighter from Maui
The HUGE Nightingale Conant Package called "The Missing Secret" which contains DVD's, CD's, a workbook, and a book!

I've read and studied just about everything Joe has done regarding marketing, publicity and promotion.

Lesson here is : Find a mentor. Hire someone who is doing or has done what you would like to do. Life is too short to not follow your passion. Go for the treasure!
